VisualOn Introduces First Universal Content-Adaptive Encoding Solution for Video Streaming

CUPERTINO, Calif. — Sept. 7, 2023 VisualOn, a leading streaming solutions provider, announced today the launch of Optimizer, the industry’s first Universal Content-Adaptive Encoding (CAE) solution. The Optimizer enables service providers to reduce streaming costs and improve viewing experiences without ever touching their existing infrastructures. The AI-enhanced CAE solution offers unparalleled performance and seamless integration with existing encoding and delivery systems. VisualOn will showcase the Optimizer at IBC2023, Sept. 15-18 at stand 5.B83.

“As bandwidth usage and costs skyrocket, service providers need a solution to boost their video profitability,” said Yang Cai, President and CEO at VisualOn “Our Optimizer is a game changer for the video encoding landscape. By combining exceptional efficiency enhanced by AI technology, seamless integration with deployed encoders, uncompromising performance, and world-class customer support, the Optimizer enables service providers to realize the highest value for video streaming.”

The Optimizer utilizes an innovative real-time, continuous CAE approach to analyze live and VOD content, determining the best transcoder settings for outstanding video quality and lower bitrates. Using the Optimizer, service providers can reduce bitrates by an average of 40% and up to 70% to improve video service bandwidth, storage costs, service scalability, and user experience through a drastic improvement in QoE KPIs and energy savings. At the same bitrate, the Optimizer can also improve video quality, as more bits are available.

With FFmpeg, the Optimizer can be deployed on bare metal, virtual machines, the private cloud, or public cloud, for both VOD and live workflows. The Optimizer has undergone extensive benchmarking and has been successfully deployed by global service providers, showing consistent results.

VisualOn will also share its thought leadership on live streaming during a conference session at IBC2023. Christophe Coquerel, director of application engineering, will join industry experts on the panel “The Technical Challenges of Live Streaming” taking place on Sept. 15 at 3:30 p.m. at the IBC Content Everywhere stage. Coquerel will address the importance of optimizing video for faster loading and reduced buffering, improving quality of viewer experience, and increasing reach to a wider range of devices. He will explain how saving transferred data reduces bandwidth requirements and improves scalability, especially for large live events, consequently lowering streaming costs. Additional details about the panel session are available at show.ibc.org/2023-content-agenda-1/technical-challenges-live-streaming.

Additionally, the company will host a happy hour event, “Bandwidth Booster Bash,” at its IBC stand on Sept. 17 starting at 4:30 p.m. More details are available at https://bit.ly/3qNIFAI.
